he Nordic ski trails in the Vallée d'Abondance extends along the banks of the River Dranse through 3 resorts :
Abondance, La Chapelle d'Abondance, Châtel
The Nordic ski area offers a vast choice of 40km of prepared cross country trails, located between 900m and 1500m above sea level. The trails range from easy beginners circuits right through to trails to test even hyper fit athletes.


Nordic ski area
8 Nordic Ski pistes of varying difficulty are prepared featuring grooved tracks and signage, for Nordic and Cross Country skiers.
These include :
2 green covering 2.8 km of tracks
3 blue : 9.6 km of tracks
2 reds : 11.4 km of tracks
1 black : 1.9 km of tracks

This winter, we challenge you to try out the 1.9 km "Black" Nordic Ski trail "Noire du Moulaz"!!!!

The village of La Chapelle d'Abondance offers 25.7 km of Nordic ski slope and connects with the Nordic trails in Abondance (7km) and Châtel (9km). In Châtel the "Corne Noire" cross country trail provides the link through to La Chapelle d'Abondance ski trails.

Nordic ski Reception and visitors Base

Located beside the Panthiaz ski lift, you will find our Nordic Ski area reception and visitors base. The reception building provides a heated refuge, and first aid post, with large plans of the Nordic ski trails in the valley, and doubles up as a place to prepare and meet up with friends. Biathlon, Nordic ski Park, ski orienteering and children luge area!

Alongside the Nordic ski reception, several new activities are catered for. There is a Nordic ski park providing various interesting challenges, for cross country skiers, and you will find designated areas where you can also try your skills at Biathlon and ski orienteering, whilst a large area has been set aside for children luge/sledges.
