Via Ferrata of Saix de Miolène
Via Ferrata of Saix de Miolène, located at the center of the Valley of Abundance bears its name bus well literally means "the rock of the medium of the Valley". This central situation opens wonderful sightseeings on the valley and its villages, and, contrary, the not-practise will be able to observe the ferratists with work since bottom.
The Ferratist evolves in a very stiff and aerial wall. It borrows pretty formed rock passages of a succession of difficulties. It comprises three distinct sections: The CABRI, the Chamois and the Bouquetin corresponding to the level of difficulty of via ferrata, which can be or not connected. Many athletic, more or less constant passages in 2nd and 3rd parts must be approached by accomplished ferratists or framed very well.
This wall is attended by the peregrine falcons, species protected. From one year on the other, 2nd and/or 3rd sections can be closed with the public of March 15 at July 10. Information is posted on the spot.

Since the carpark in edge of Rd 22 with the entry of the Vault of Abundance, the foot of the career, to follow the "path of the menhir" in forest Abondance direction 15 minutes. The name of the path comes from the menhir located under the wall, which would have known in remote times of the druidic practices.

Time of course (gone up and descent): from 3 with 5h including 15 mn of access.
Time of return: from 30 to 45 mn.

For adults and children 1,40m minimum.

1st Section "CABRI": AD+ Length: 350m

2èmes Section "The Chamois": TD Cumulated Longueur: 700m.
Time of cumulated course: 2 with 3h of which return 25 to 35mn.
3rd Section "The Ibex": TD Longueur Cumulated: 900m
Time of cumulated course: 3 with 5h of which return 30 to 45mn.

The access of via ferrata is free; with your load, the hiring of the material and possibly, the framing by a specialist.

Caution: There is a mortal risk to engage in one via ferrata without alpine material and perfect knowledge of its utilistation. Alpine route equipped with cables, slopes, levels, in air and sometimes athletic matter. Respect the direction of the route and do not leave there. You practise this route under your own responsibility. Hold account of the conditions of the mountain before engaging you. Do not hesitate to call upon the professional services.
